Learn biomedical optics and biomedical engineering basics, develop and construct new laboratory equipment, methods, algorithms, software, etc..
Carry out measurements in-vivo, write peer-reviewed research publications, write PhD thesis based on the research.

Patience and enthusiasm in learning new skills and acquiring of new knowledge as researchers manoeuvre on uncharted territories. However, a good theoretical, programming and engineering background is essential to make first steps. This includes: good understanding of physics; good programming skills; MATLAB knowledge essential for rapid prototyping and algorithms development; basics in electronics; knowledge on reading schematics and datasheets (helpful in learning and development processes).

Enthusiasm on research acquired on the masters course. Successful research career follows enthusiasm in facing problems he/she does not understand and knows the satisfaction feeling after solving a challenging problem. This is supported by natural curiosity and courage to ask question and try out solutions nobody suggested or asked for.

1. CV, cover letter, copies of diplomas and other documents confirming your qualifications, e.g. a document confirming status of a student in a Doctoral School.
2. List of scientific, didactic, implementation and organizing achievements, including:
   • list of publications as well as patents,
   • patent applications and research studies used in clinical practice,
   • copies of publications of own research in indexed journals,
   • list of completed research projects, including the sources of financing and the financial dimensions (e.g. research projects of the Ministry of Science and Higher Educaon, NCN, projects in EU Programs),
   • list of projects carried out in scientific cooperation with foreign countries,
   • list of national and international scientific societies and committees of which the candidate was or is a member.
