Meeting “in the clouds” at the end of the first day of the Conference fosters scientific integration and conversations and exchange of experiences.

The first day of the combined 20th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering (NBC 2025) and the 24th Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (PCBBE 2025) is behind us.
The opening ceremony also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The assembled participants of the conference were welcomed by the Director of the IBIB of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Piotr Ładyżyński, PhD. The Director recalled the idea and genesis of the Institute's establishment and what evolution it has undergone over the years.

Prof. Marek Darowski - President of the Polish Society for Biomedical Engineering,
Prof. dr hab. inż. Marek Gzik – Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education
Prof. dr hab. inż. Adam Liebert - Chairman of the Committee on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
Prof. dr hab. inż. Natalia Sobczak - Vice President of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
as well as guests from the Hall.
They expressed their thanks and congratulations to the Director, Professor Piotr Ładyżyński.
Among other things, they mentioned the many years of interdisciplinary cooperation and the important contribution of the Institute to the development of Biomedical Engineering in Poland over the years, and wished success for the next 50 years.

We have a great pleased to announce that prof. Kamila Sadowska from IBIB PAN, has been awarded funding for the project entitled "Enzyme Based Metal Organic Frameworks for Cancer Treatment".
The project was submitted jointly with Abdelkader Zebda from Université Grenoble Alpes within the competition for joint research projects between the Republic of Poland and the French Republic PHC Polonium 2024 NAWA - National Agency for Academic Exchange.

On April 22-23, 2024, at the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering took place 172 ICB Seminar – NPDC Meeting.
This event was co-organized by the International Center for Biocybernetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, Medical University of Bialystok, Committee of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences..
The Meeting was held in hybrid form and was attended online and in person by over 40 participants from all over Europe: Sweden, Belgium, Lithuania, Estonia, Iceland, Denmark, Finnland, Norway, Latvia and Poland. The lecturers and participant discussed current and future state of PD and gave update on their Projects.
